WEST STREET, PADDINGTON
The challenges in this project were not only the state of the existing dwelling but also that the client and architect lived overseas. Therefore, communication with the client needed to be both precise and workable.
The dwelling itself was in extremely poor condition as well as structurally unsound. Access to the site was only through the front door as there was no rear lane access. All works had to be co-ordinated to manage this issue as there were extensive demolition and landscaping works.
As with other projects of this type, internal finishes to the existing dwelling needed to be maintained to reflect the period. At the same time, the additions, using updated fixtures and fittings, created a modern look.
